Does selecting my insurer mean my care is covered?

Your specific plan, benefits, eligibility, and any required authorization still need to be confirmed. Our team helps you work through those details before care is arranged.

What should I have ready for the conversation?

Have your insurance card, the full name of your plan, the city where care is needed, and a general idea of the help you are looking for. If you have a case manager, their contact details can also help.

I don’t know which plan I have. Can I still ask for help?

Yes. Choose “I’m not sure” in the guide, or call our office. We can help you identify the information needed for your next step.

How is PASSPORT different from an insurance plan?

PASSPORT is an Ohio Medicaid home-care waiver program for eligible older adults. In Central Ohio, COAAA provides screening and helps determine eligibility and the service plan. Your insurance plan and PASSPORT are separate questions to discuss with the team.

PASSPORT information from COAAA
Can we arrange care through private pay?

Yes. We can discuss your care needs, scheduling, availability, and pricing directly. You will have a chance to review the proposed arrangement before deciding how to proceed.

What will care cost?

That depends on your coverage or payment arrangement and the care being considered. Ask the office to explain authorized services, any costs that may apply, and the next steps before care begins.
